Back of card: Astronomy photograph of stars & nebula. Pretty. Not symmetric, but not a great hindrance to inverting the cards, which the instructions suggest you don't do.

Comments: This is not a tarot deck, but then it doesn't claim to be. Don't be confused by the word, "tantra" in the name of this deck: This deck has nothing to do with sex. The dictionary defines "tantra" as a mystical or magical path, and there are in fact many different tantras. If you find all the many yogas & tantras confusing, here's a helpful hint: Most of them can be reduced to a focus on one of the seven (or so) major Chakras in the human body. People who spend their time working with lower chakra practices tend to be a lot more noticeable than the many more working on heart, ajna or crown chakra disciplines.
This deck is copyright 1977 & betrays its age in other ways. Back then, back before Pentiums & Windows, you could actually cut out pictures & paste them down & make tarot cards that way (a collage). We did stuff like that back in the early 1970's. Sounds delightfully primitive, doesn't it! That's how many of the cards in this deck were created. A few (the Joker) are original paintings with collage.
As for reading the cards, instructions are given for transforming the Celtic Cross tarot layout into a Tree of Life layout. Brief notes are given for each of the cards. Our suggestion: Read the notes, then use what you know of Hindu symbols & mythology (hopefully you know something as this deck does not cater to beginners) & make each card your own. Which is what you must do with Tarot anyway.
