The Flower Speaks Deck

Measurements: 2.95 x 4.65 inches, or 75 x 118 mm.

Back of card: A white border, purple field. In the center, a black 12 pointed star, curved to look like the silhouette of a flower. Inside that, 24 "spokes" radiate. This inner section looks very much like the old NBC-TV color broadcast logo.

Booklet included: Yes, 43 pages, 2.75 x 4.4 inches, or 70 x 112 mm.

Comments: As you will have already noticed, this is not a tarot deck. Twenty-two cards are said to represent the Major Arcana. Then there are 18 Element cards that relate to Fire, Air, Water & Earth, five Energy cards and seven Guidance cards.

In practice, I could distinguish only two groups: 45 general cards, each with a keyword on the top & the name of a flower or plant on the bottom, and the seven Guidance cards. These are the seven: Seed, Root, Stem, Leaves, Flower, Pistil & Stamen, and Fruit.

The 45 general cards are numbered 0 - 44.

In the booklet, cards 0-21 are "major arcana" cards, cards 22-25 are fire/wands, cards 26-29 are cups/water, cards 30-34 are air/swords, and cards 35-39 are earth/coins (note that wands & cups get four each, air & coins get five each). Cards 40-44 are Energy cards. Card 40 is also numbered 0, card 41 is also numbered 60, card 42 is numbered 90, card number 43 is also numbered 120, and card number 44 is also numbered 180. These extra numbers represent degrees, but only on card 44 is the degree symbol plainly printed.

The booklet describes each of these cards, telling us what each flower "speaks" and giving us the interpretation, both upright & reversed. There is also a note on the "essence" of each flower.

A pretty deck, though to my eyes, somewhat muddled in execution.
