Publisher: Llewellyn. Printed in the USA.

Comments: This deck is in Celtic. Swords are Aer (air), pentacles are Domhan, wands/fire are Tine, cups are Uisce. Court cards: Ard Ri are kings, Banrions are queens, Ridires are knights and Annirs are maidens. In structure, the 40 pip cards are called Element cards, the court cards are called Helper cards, and the major arkana are called the Ancient Ones cards. In addition, there are four Gift of Faery cards and one extra major arkana, the 00, the Tree of Life.

In considering this deck, it struck me how the language of tarot is so broad that it can be used to express any culture. In looking at the cards & reading the book, this deck is about Irish myth & legend, more than wicca or faery-folk. In the book, for the pips of each suit is a story that runs on from card to card. For each court card & major arkana card, a relevant story is told from Irish folklore. Magic abounds, but not wicca nor the wee folk.

So another lovely Celtic deck.
